Intrigued with the play of light and shadow on the colors and shapes of nature,
Cortese reflects and enhances an original image in multiple symmetrical alignments,
until she feels that the unique geometric patterns are complete.
The resulting images transform familiar nature elements beyond normal and
into kaleidoscopic, alien and perhaps even hypnotic visions .
