It's MANGO SEASON...
and this year Pauline Goldsmith, a fabulous botanical artist,
friend and fellow Fairchild Garden volunteer has curated a
Mango Art Exhibition
for the 16th Annual
Mango Festival at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden,
Saturday and Sunday, July 12 & 13th from 9:30 to 4:30 each day
15 Miami Artists* will be showing Mango art in styles, sizes
and price ranges for every mango lover!
The following 3 new 'Making Mango Salsa' series artworks:
'Mango in Bird Bath", "Blue Bath, and 'Almost Mango Salsa'
 
will be on display in this show. I got a bit carried away with the
mango art project and instead of one new artwork, it turned into
a series of 10 images - original photos and my trademark,
Nature's Energy photopaintings.

Cortese Designs
Last fall, I decided to share my Nature's Energy art on a new,
fashionable and practical item. What started out as just a few
designs on a Classic Totebag is now over 20 designs on
5 different styles. I've also created exclusive designs
for The Shop at Fairchild which feature garden landscapes,
orchids, flowers and plants that I've photographed at the Garden.
Two custom designs that I've just completed are featured
on Business/Laptop Bags for the
"Count Me In" - economic independence for women program.
I am also in the process of creating designs for another organization
that will benefit children and our planet.

Stories, lots of stories are on my blog... and not just about art,
although for me, that's how everything weaves together.

(including the Tattoed Tough Guys of Rescue Ink - on 'Ellen'
this afternoon as I'm writing this), honeybee invasions,
the fabulous Green Market in North Miami, Edible Landscapes
from Paradise Gardens in Homestead, FL, a workshop with
Stuart Horodner, curator of the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center
sponsored by LegalArtMiami and hosted in Wynwood
at the Locust Project gallery. That's just in the last few months.
